The Role of Cybernetics in the Soviet Union and in Other Countries of Eastern Europe during the Period 1955–1975

In the fol­lo­wing pa­per au­thor pre­sents ma­in ide­as and dif­fi­cul­ties of the phi­lo­so­phy of cy­ber­ne­tics in the east – block co­un­tries be­twe­en 1955 and 1975 year. First, the cy­ber­ne­tics (along with the re­asons of it’s po­pu­la­ri­ty) is pre­sen­ted and put in the con­text of the con­tem­po­ra­ry ide­olo­gy. Next, the ma­in are­as of in­ve­sti­ga­tions on this field are shown, with the em­pha­sis on the mind – bo­dy re­la­tion as con­cerns to dia­lec­tic ma­te­ria­lism. Fi­nal­ly, the ro­le of cy­ber­ne­tics’s phi­lo­so­phy in the de­ve­lop­ment of cy­ber­ne­tics it­self is ana­ly­zed.
