Several Remarks about the Problem of Philosophical Consciousness

Jan Skoczyński

The author of the article has taken occasion of Prof. Stanisław Borzym’s literary legacy to formulate several remarks about the problem of philosophical consciousness. These include metaphysical sensitivity, thinking in terms of persons, respect for the philosophical tradition, broadness of interests, awareness of risk, disinterestedness, and responsibility. In the area of research technique these are accompanied by methodical self-knowledge, the ability to conduct philosophical narration, scrupulousness in reconstructing views, which – enriched by love for one’s native philosophical heritage – constitute a model of research professionalism where the sapiential approach to philosophy is more important than the scientistic approach.
