José Luis Cano: Poetics and Morality… for Friendship’s Sake…

José Luis Mora García

This article refl ects the personality of the poet from Algeciras, Jose Luis Cano, one of the architects of the journal Ínsula, which was a real bridge with exile an instrument for the reconstruction of liberal and reformist tradition. His monographs on “heterodoxies and pre-romantics” and on the “Spanish of two centuries” were a good example of this integration with the best of history. Poetic creation and reflection on the meaning of literature completed a life that should be remembered.
