The aim of the article is to analyse philosophical aspects of research made by Juliette Favez-Boutonier, an important representative of the French psychoanalytic movement. Favez-Boutonier combined philosophy with psychology and psychoanalysis, mainly at the methodological level. She also considered issues from the borderline between these disciplines, analyzing, for example, the essence of fear, ambivalence or weakness of the will. In this context, her lecture on the relationship between psychoanalysis and philosophy is also a particularly interesting document.
