Leszek Kołakowski (23 October 1927 Radom — 17 July 2009 Oxford) – one of the founder members of „Archives”, co-founder of the Warsaw School of the History of Ideas, one of the most famous Polish philosophers who gained international renown. His main field of interest was history of philosophy, history of the political ideas and philosophy of religion. Essayist, publicist, prose writer.
The journal founded by Leszek Kołakowski, Bronisław Baczko and Jan Garewicz appears continuously since 1957.
