The object of the article is the display of the argument stated some years ago by the outstanding Polish expert in Spanish philosophy, Mr Eugeniusz Górski, that Miguel de Unamuno in his early works, perceived in the socialist ideas rather moral and religious reforms than economic ones. This statement, in the light of the newest studies of the output of the Spanish thinker, approved to be extremely right. The article also tries to inquire into the question of the immediate interest of Unamuno`s opinions formulated at the end of the nineteenth century.
