Motyw kartezjański w polskiej fenomenologii (1895–2015): Przegląd stanowisk i próba bilansu

Witold Płotka

The article is an attempt to characterize the Cartesian motif in Polish phenomenology in the period from the fi rst reactions to contemporary formulations. The main aim of the article is presentation of the central positions, arguments, and developments which co-found the Cartesian motif. By the “Cartesian motif” is understood a group of intertwined issues, problems, and its possible solutions that refer to certain elements of Descartes’s and Husserl’s philosophies. In result of the presentation of selected philosophers, the article aims at a deeper characterization of what is the Cartesian motif. In this context, a further aim of the article is a formulation of a possible direction of development of a non-Cartesian phenomenology. Th e author argues that the Cartesianism of phenomenology is fi rst and foremost a result of an exposition of this way of philosophizing. In turn, while doing the phenomenological method that is grounded on the moderate claims seems to enlarge the research fi eld of phenomenology.
