Erscheinen und Genese. Einige Fragen zur Phanomenologie Martin Heideggers

Filip Borek

In my paper I try to show how Heidegger’s philosophy describes the relation between the notion of appearing (Erscheinen) and the notion of genesis or origin (Ursprung). I  try to elucidate Heidegger’s approach in a  phenomenological way in order to propose a perspective which makes it possible to combine the standpoints of two main figures of current debate concerning Heidegger’s work: Thomas Sheehan and Richard Capobianco. I  argue that Heidegger’s main question is not the question of being (Seinsfrage), but it should rather be understood as the question of the origin of phenomenality. After sketching Heidegger’s phenomenological interpretation of origin as such, I try to show that the early transcendental approach, which combines the question of phenomenality with the question of meaning and understanding, is not abandoned in the later thought, but it is deepened through the new notion of appearing as genesis. Using this approach I locate Heidegger’s analysis in a broader context of contemporary phenomenological discussions concerning the problem of phenomenality of phenomenon.
