The concept of symbolic pregnancy is considered by many scholars to be the most important, root concept of Cassirer’s entire philosophy of symbolic forms. It constitutes the originality of his phenomenology in comparison with that of Husserl, Brentano, Scheler or Heidegger.

Ernst Cassirer (1874–1945) – German philosopher (aft er 1939 citizen of Sweden). Representative of Neokantian Marburg School. Historian of philosophy, theorist of knowledge and science, culture and mythical thought. Founder of the original theory of symbolic forms. The journal founded by Leszek Kołakowski, Bronisław Baczko and Jan Garewicz appears continuously since 1957.
